Seriously. Remus and Tonks are a canon relationship because Rowling wrote it that way. She didn’t write Remus and Sirius as a couple. She wrote them as friends, and there’s no legitimate way around that. Friendship does not always equal out to romantic feelings.

How, HOW the ever loving fuck can you say that the Sirius/Remus relationship is “dumbing down meaningful friendships down to just sex”?

People like the relationship between the two of them BECAUSE they have such a meaningful friendship. It is BECAUSE of the bond between them, so strong after YEARS of separation and of doubt, BECAUSE of the friendship, BECAUSE it means so much, that people are attracted to the idea of them as a couple.

People will ship what they want, and when it comes to these two, there’s a heck of a lot more plausibility than most of the other pairings in this fandom, depending on who you ask.

“She wrote them as friends and there’s no legitimate way around that”? Who the bloody hell is ignoring their friendship? Nobody’s trying to get around it, it’s pretty much always depicted as the main attraction TO the pairing.

No, friendship doesn’t always equal out to romantic feelings. That’s about the only thing you got right here. But considering that’s where one of the main pairings in this series came from, excuse the fandom from acknowledging the possibility.
